Designed and Loved, Designed to Love

“Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.”
– 1 John 3:1-3

God, it will be so nice to see clearly, to not wonder what’s right or wrong anymore and not get confused. It will be so nice to see You for who You actually are and not be deceived. It will be so nice to be like You and have deep, deep intimacy with You. It will be so nice not to sin, doubt, or fear anymore. How mighty is Your compassion on us! Thank You. Thank You for Your mercy.

You know, the world, or at least modern American media, preaches that we should be unique, be ourselves, be confident, don’t doubt, don’t fear, trust everything is going to work out, don’t worry about what other people think… but they don’t have any reasons to back up their advice. They’re most often wrong because they don’t start or end with You, but if we start and end with You, they’re absolutely right. You created us uniquely, You made us with a purpose, You want us to be who You designed us to be and no one else and to not compare ourselves to one another, You want us to live with boldness and courage and confidence in Your love, You tell us not to doubt and not to fear and not to worry, You tell us to trust You and know that You are in charge and are making Your plan come to fruition without fail, You promise that You make all things work out for the good of those who love You, and You tell us to be aware of and concerned with what You think, not anyone else.

Everything starts and ends with Your love. If we live in love like You want us to, we are living like You because You are love. Telling us to love and telling us to mimic You are the same command. Understanding You must begin and end with Your love.
