“Behold I have put My words in your mouth. … Do not be dismayed before them, or I will dismay you before them. Now behold, I have made you today as a fortified city and as a pillar of iron and as walls of bronze against the whole land, to the kings of Judah, to its princes, to its priests and to the people of the land. They will fight against you, but they will not overcome you, for I am with you to deliver you.”
– Jeremiah 1:9b, 17b-19a
“Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the LORD? Now then go, and I, even I, will be with your mouth, and teach you what you are to say.”
– Exodus 3:11b-12
“‘Can a man hide himself in hiding places so I do not see him?’ declares the LORD. ‘Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?’ declares the LORD.”
– Jeremiah 23:24
“Why was there no man when I came? When I called, why was there none to answer? Is My hand so short that it cannot ransom? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, I dry up the sea with My rebuke, I make the rivers a wilderness”
– Isaiah 50:2a
God, if we would take You at Your word, our lives would go much better. The Fall never would have happened.
Even so, You are never thwarted. Even so, You are merciful, gracious, compassionate, persistent, and love us with everlasting, steadfast love. You are worthy to be worshiped!
God, so often we overestimate ourselves and underestimate You. One day we will see clearly; You will be exalted, and we will fall on our knees. I await that day with joy. All we need to do is trust You, rely on You, seek You, love You, and obedience and fruit will grow.
Thank You for never letting go of me, even when I didn’t/don’t believe what You say, as if You – who are Truth – are false. I’m sorry. I repent. I have sinned just like Eve, my mother. You, Jesus, could save me in no other way except by dying for me, and You did because You love and desire me. Thank You.
